About ACTA (Includes Petition Links)

amandabellman:

Seriously, people. This is way more serious than SOPA and PIPA. Just because those two bills have been dropped now, doesn’t mean we (or the internet, for that matter) is safe just yet.
What I don’t think that some people haven’t understood yet, is that ACTA is not the European version of SOPA and PIPA. It is GLOBAL and way more serious. I repeat; IT. IS. FUCKING. GLOBAL. We could lose the internet. We could lose our goddamn freedom if this passes. This is the modern fucking world, and freedom should be a privilege for everyone.
Now, I BEG OF YOU; sign some petitions. Sign all of them if you have to, because whether you believe it or not, it does make a difference. We’re all in this together and just because some of you think that ACTA will only affect Europe, doesn’t mean you should just accept it. I say this as a European and because I’m worried. I want to keep my freedom, and I want to be able to use the internet as I always have been using it, without suffering the ridiculous consequences.
Now, I’m pretty sure that the majority of you people want the same things as me when it comes to this…. So, sign petitions. PLEASE, just do it. If you think that it takes up too much of your time, well, it is for a noble cause. A very noble and important cause.

I don’t know about you, but I will fight for my rights. I will take a stand. We all should… So, please, if you see a post where you can sign petitions, SIGN THEM. This could affect the world as we know it.
